Elk Valley Gymnastics

This May 27-28, Elk Valley Gymnastics, a non-profit organization, is hosting the Rocky Mountain Tumble at the Fernie Memorial Arena. Drawing athletic clubs from across BC and Alberta, Fernie will be busy with competitors and their families as they take to the mats, bars, beams and vaults. The theme this year is Circus, and everyone is invited to enjoy the impressive show.

In order to host an event this size, clubs need to fundraise. Elk Valley Gymnastics has sponsorship packages available for businesses in the Elk Valley looking to support a community event and gain great exposure. Silver and bronze sponsors will have exposure at the event, and will be included in ads in the Fernie Fix, on social media, and radio ads. Gold sponsors will have the added exposure of being a title sponsor for each event - vault, bars, floor and beam.

For more details on the event, visit elkvalleygymnastics.com/rocky-mountain-tumble-2023. To receive the sponsorship package, please email info@elkvalleygymnastics.com.

Fernie Trails Alliance
fernietrailsalliance.com
The Fernie Valley Pathway will provide a safe muti-use pathway that will connect the City of Fernie and Fernie Alpine Resort. These communities do not currently have a safe pedestrian and cycling route into town, this pathway will enable the wellbeing of a diverse range of user groups, including those with mobility constraints, and will provide an exceptional experience for area residents and visitors alike.

The 7km paved pathway will run adjacent to, but separated from, vehicle traffic to significantly improve the safety and enjoyment of active transportation users along this highway corridor. 4km of the Fernie Valley Pathway were completed in the summer of 2022, and the FTA is fundraising for the last 3km of this trail.  The Fernie Valley Pathway committee is looking to raise $180,000 to complete the project planning part of Phase 2. If you would like to get involved, please reach  out to executivedirector@fernietrailsalliance.com.

Pastryland
pastrylandwaffles.square.site

Pastryland started to create gourmet Belgian style waffles made with fresh ingredients during 2022. The owner, Annabelle St-Marseille, had a craving for this treat and couldn’t find anywhere to fulfill it. Why not try making them herself? Challenge accepted!

Savoury or sweet, you’ll get your fix with toppings of your choice or enjoy Pastryland dips to experience the full adventure.

Annabelle likes to create unusual flavour combinations to get you out of your comfort zone, like the miso caramel. Their goal is to build a Sweet Empire, one waffle at a time! Pastryland Waffles are available at Local Store in downtown Fernie - 532 2nd Ave. Follow Patstryland on Instagram @pastryland_waffles and Facebook @pastrylandwaffles.
