July Business News

Fernie Brewing Co. 26 Manitou Road, 250-423-7797
If you’ve been to a liquor store in BC or Alberta you’ve probably noticed Fernie Brewing Company’s newest additions! With a new bottling line, FBC is excited to now offer What the Huck – Huckleberry Wheat and Ol’ Willy Wit – Belgian White Ale in their 650ml bottles. With all five of their products available on tap, but only the original three available off the shelves, it was time to move their two summer favorites to centre stage.

While FBC’s other varietals have been continually growing in popularity, offered in cans (Rocky Mountain Genuine Lager, The Griz Pale Ale and First Trax Brown Ale – which recently brought home Silver in the People’s Choice Award at the Calgary International BeerFest 2010), it’s their newest additions that have been attracting the most attention lately with their distinctive flavours and appealing European styles.

What the Huck – Huckleberry Wheat is sweetness with a deep colour, blending huckleberries with wheat to create a smooth and creamy beer with touch of huckleberry flavour. Ol’ Willy Wit – Belgian White Ale is brewed with wheat, a distinctive Belgian yeast, a touch of coriander and Curacao orange peel, producing an unfiltered beer with a signature cloudy appearance and light and spicy citrus flavours.

So get out there and support our local brewery! Grab the new FBC beer for that BBQ or celebration you’re attending this summer, and congratulate the crew at FBC next time you pass by the brewery.
