Island Lake Lodge's Summer Guide

Island Lake Lodge opens for the summer season on June 7th!
Treat yourself this summer and explore natural wonders at Island Lake Lodge. From hiking to relaxing in the serene environment of their mountain spa or indulging in acclaimed food and wine – their summer activities showcase the best that Island Lake Lodge and the mountains surrounding Fernie, BC have to offer.
The 7,000 acres of pristine wilderness at Island Lake provides countless hiking opportunities. Whether you are interested in a 30-minute walk or a Full Day hike, Island Lake has hiking trails for all ability levels. We have a full-time trail crew who keeps the trail system well maintained.
A plethora of mountain biking trails wind their way all over the valley and you don’t have to go far to find some world class single track. If you are looking for something a little tamer, try the River Trail around town which is chariot and child friendly. Located on the lower Island Lake property, The Lazy Lizard Trail has quickly become one of the most popular trails in the area. The trail is designed for various ability levels including novice and young riders.
End the day on a delicious note inside the elegant Tamarack Dining Room. Executive Chef Keith Farkas and his team do their best to source local Fernie produce, organic & traditionally-raised foods and sustainable seafood, then put their talent to the test by turning it into some of the Elk Valley’s best fare. Reservations are highly recommended. There are seasonal hours of operation and private bookings so be sure to check the calendar or call the reservations team.
