Fernie Cocktail Tour
The sun is shining, you’ve finished your adventures for the day and you’re craving your favourite refreshments from one of Fernie’s awesome restaurants or bars.
For those days when we just can’t make it to their establishment and beautiful patio space, we asked them to share their secrets with us! Just remember, these local businesses need our support more than ever! Let’s do our best to spread some love by showing our appreciation for their hard work, dedication and community spirit this past year plus.
The Blue Toque - The Silver Monk
- 1.5oz White Tequila
- 0.5oz Chartreuse
- 1oz Simple Syrup
- 1oz lime juice
- 5 Cucumber Slices, muddled
- pinch of salt
All shaken with mint ice and double strained. A refreshing summer cocktail made for patio sipping, especially on the deck of Fernie’s original train station!
The Bridge Bistro - Beckyrita
- 2oz Espolon Blanco
- 2/3oz Lime
- 2/3oz Homemade Jalapeno Syrup
- 1 spoon Candied Jalapenos from Fernie local Sidekick Fine Foods (Becky)
Rim the glass with coarse salt and smoked paprika, and garnish with a lime wheel. Tequila, some sweet and some heat…perfect for a summer day!
Fernie Distillery - Pine-Smoked Pineapple Punch
- ½ oz Maple Syrup
- ¼ oz Lime Sherbet
- 1 oz Lime Juice
- ¾ oz Appleton Rum
- ¾ oz Pineapple infused FD No.9 Mine Vodka
- ¾ oz FD Cinder Liqueur
- 2 Dashes FD Aromatic Bitters
- Dehydrated Pineapple and Lime Wheel
Add all ingredients to a tall metal shaker, fill ¾ with ice and “hard shake,” Dirty Dump (no straining just dump all ingredients into the glass) into a punch glass and garnish with a dehydrated pineapple and lime wheel. The sweet smokiness of this pine-smoked punch will keep you coming back to enjoy on their courtyard patio!
The Brickhouse - Mine Driver
- 1.5oz Fernie Distillers Gin
- 3oz Orange juice
- Top with Soda
- 3 dashes of Angostura bitters
A deliciously refreshing cocktail to enjoy, especially on their patio in the Historic downtown with beautiful views of the Lizard Range.
Cirque Restaurant - Spruce Lee
- 1.5oz Lavender Gin
- 2oz Coconut Water
- 1oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- House-made Eucalyptus and Spruce Syrup
- Trans-Canada Bitters from Better’s Bitters
As fresh as the first snowfall, this cocktail epitomizes the Canadian peaks by combining notes of eucalyptus, lavender infused gin, coconut and spruce. Complete the experience at the base of Fernie Alpine Resort on Cirque’s patio!
Fernie Hotel and Pub - Summer Sangria
A blend of:
- Triple Sec
- Peach Schnapps
- Flavoured Vodka
- Topped with white wine and garnished with

While this will taste delicious anywhere, make sure to visit their patio to enjoy by the glass or the pitcher, red and white options available.
Island Lake Lodge - Geisha House
Hand Harvested Mint Muddled with Fresh Lime
- White Rum
- Finished with Sparkling Water
A classic and favourite at Island Lake, referencing its unique history. Best enjoyed taking in the epic views from the Bear Lodge patio!
Nevados- Liquid Encouragement Mint
- 1 oz Cachaca (a rum-like spirit made exclusively in Brazil)
- 1 oz Passion Fruit purée
- 0.5 oz Lime juice
- 0.5 oz Agave syrup
- 4-6 Fresh mint leaves
Shake ingredients on ice and pour into your favourite Summer cocktail glass. Top with Fernie Brewing Co. Hit The Deck Hazy IPA. It’s a Mojito on steroids. May cause explicit dance moves and sassy text messages. Be safe. Wear sunscreen.
The Northern - Local Fave
- 1oz. gin
- 1oz. St. Germain
- Dash of fresh lime juice
Add your ice. Top with ½ grapefruit juice and ½ tonic. This yummy cocktail tastes great any time of day as it’s light, refreshing and delightfully tasty! The Northern is serving up all sorts of cocktails on their patio, with a new summer and weekend breakfast menu.
Yamagoya - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
- 3oz of Momokawa Pearl Sake
- 1.5oz of Fancy Grade Apple Juice
- 0.5oz Lemon Juice
- 0.5oz Orgeat
- 2 Muddles Strawberries
A subtly sweet sake cocktail sure to refresh you this summer. Yamagoya recently renovated their patio space - definitely a must this summer season!
Having grown up in Fernie, Krista Turcasso is happily surprised with each new addition to Fernie’s culinary scene. You can find her this summer, on one of the many beautiful patios enjoying the sunshine and a post mountain bike ride refreshment.
