Wildsight – Seedy Saturday
wildsight.ca
Seed swaps have been attracting and involving Fernie gardeners annually since 2005. Wildsight’s Seedy Saturday event returns this year live in person at the Fernie Family Centre on February 25. Co-hosted by Wildsight Elk Valley’s Cold Climate Seed Library and the Fernie Family Garden, this event features gardening from all angles with information and displays on growing food, composting, vermicomposting, gardening in our cold climate and, of course, collecting and sharing seeds. Veterans, newbies and potential gardeners are all invited to share seeds and gardening information. There will be activities for kids, a hot drinks café, bake sale and raffle.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Proceeds go to support EcoGarden projects and construction of new accessible beds at the Family Garden. Anyone interested in volunteering at the event or wanting more information can contact garden.fernie@gmail.com.
