Kootenay Canitizers is a new trash can cleaning and sanitizing service provider owned and operated in Fernie by business partners Ric Behan and Andy Bellerby.

Services will commence in mid-April and are aimed at solving the issues created by unclean wheeled trash cans and the newly purchased compost containers. The objective is to sanitize waste containers, improving the environment and helping reduce the increasing wildlife interactions.

Ric and Andy commissioned the construction of a curbside cleaning and sanitizing unit for waste containers. The eco-friendly service utilizes a wash bay system with high pressure cleaning jets at 90 degrees Celsius. Biodegradable cleaning products are used to remove contaminants followed by scented anti-bacterial spray to deter wildlife. The wastewater undergoes treatment and is disposed of ethically.
Kootenay Canitizers is excited to help  with preserving local wildlife and provide a much-needed service to residents.
