Gallery Opening: Hot & Cold: Glass Art in Three Parts

Katherine Russell will be showing "Hot & Cold: Glass Art in Three Parts" at the Fernie Museum from December 13, 2019 to April 19, 2020.

This is the most extensive collection of her glasswork she's ever shown. It pulls together pieces from all techniques that she works in, from glassblowing to sand carving, kiln-forming to powder printing. It is many years of work, carefully curated to fit all together in one show. It includes two mini exhibitions: "Held" which was funded by the Canada Council for the Arts, and "Memories Are Malleable" which was funded by Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance, plus a few pieces on loan from private collections.

The Opening Reception is part of a larger, very exciting event: Fire & Ice. Friday, December 13th: 7pm-11pm at the Fernie Museum. Purchase your tickets online.

The following day, Saturday December 14th Katherine will be giving an Artist Talk at 1:30pm upstairs in the gallery. It is free (after admission to the Museum which is $5).

Check out the Facebook evemt for the Artist Talk.

The Museum is located at 491 2nd Ave, Fernie BC and are open 10-5:30 every day. The exhibition is on the 2nd floor.
