The Cleansing Mind

SOLILOQUY: Noun

1. The act of talking to oneself.
2. a poem, discourse, or utterance of a character in a drama that has the form of a monologue or gives the illusion of being a series of unspoken reflections.

As an actor, a soliloquy is that inescapable moment you have playing a character where their true feelings are exposed. It’s a vulnerable opportunity to let the audience into the internal world you create within the drama of the play. This month, I thought I’d dive deep into the world of drama and present a soliloquy for Fernie.

The Cleansing Mind
By Sadie Rosgen

I am beckoned to sit in the empty space of silence. Running through oxygen and timing out my clock,
I hang in the space of beneficial thought.
My breath, a heavy snowfall lifting my frame of mind to find clarity and wonder.
I ponder as innocent joy and curiosity befall me. Unyielding, free…
My sense of space here is infinite.
A transformation is in place and measured for the future. Relevant renewal from the mountains and streams, grandfather trees in a spectacular landscape.
My mind conditions my body and I am anew.
