About Fernie Fix
The Fernie Fix, a lifestyle magazine published and distributed monthly in Fernie, BC Canada offers residents and visitors a snapshot of all the unique stories, people, businesses, organizations, activities, facts......the countless details that make this town, completely encircled by the Rocky Mountains, the intriguing destination it is.
The first issue of the Fix was published December 1, 2006 by Claris Media, a team made up of Krista Turcasso and Vanessa Croome. These two girls gladly call Fernie their home and are continually impressed by the multitude of talented individuals that join them in their pursuit of happiness and success in Fernie, BC.
The Fernie Fix is their way of sharing these stories with you! FernieFix.com not only includes all of the content from the popular monthly magazine and seasonal guides, it includes all you need to plan your time in Fernie, BC. Events, outdoor recreation, dining and cafés, shopping, arts and culture... it's all right here for you to discover!
Vanessa Croome
Publisher & Creative Director
Co-owner and operator of Claris Media Inc., Vanessa is a graphic designer who loves a good design challenge! She specializes in magazine layout and map and sign design, and tackles each project with an eye for clean, functional design that makes sense. When not on the laptop, you can find Vanessa in her studio exploring another side of her creativity through painting, out on the trails in Fernie being inspired by all that surrounds her, and out in the community.

Krista Turcasso

Co-owner and operator of Claris Media Inc. Krista has been passionate about writing since she could pick up a pencil. After graduating with a BA and an MBA, she found her way back to Fernie, and put this passion and experience to use through the pages of the Fernie Fix. When not at her computer, Krista is with her family, in the mountains or working with various organizations.

Christine Thompson
Web Project Manager
Christine works with clients from the beginning until the completion of the project. She loves seeing their vision come to life in real time, creating easy to edit websites that integrate the brand and that are clean, functional, mobile friendly and intuitive for the visitor. Having been with Claris Media for almost 15 years, she’s worked on a range of website projects from minimal design to e-commerce solutions and other third party applications. She loves a challenge!

Developer & Programmer
Doug is a contract programmer who has been an integral part of the Claris Media team for 15 years. Doug is the go-to guy for all things technical, for custom programming on a range of CMS platforms and trouble-shooting.
