TransRockies Celebrates 10 Years and Draws National Champions

The energy in Fernie is palpable as riders from around the world begin to arrive, lycra clad and raring to go. It's an exciting time, as the TransRockies celebrates its tenth year, which Fernie has been a part of since the beginning. This year Fernie plays an even more integral role, hosting the entirety of the TR3 - the portion of the TransRockies that became UCI sanctioned last year and is drawing big names such as Max Plaxton, Matthew Hadley, Catherine Vipond and Mical Dyck.
New this year is the TR4. Riders now have the opportunity to chose to ride the last four days solo, taking in Kananaskis and Bragg Creek on their way to the finish in Canmore. The TransRockies original challenge is still a seven-day team event, drawing riders of all levels from around the world for a ride of a lifetime. To the fast, flowy, technical and fun singletrack in Fernie, to the magnificent exposed ridge rides and epic views of K Country, they are in for a treat.
Follow the event from August 7-13 online and if you're in Fernie, head downtown for three days of nerve racking start and two exciting finishes, and the final finish at Island Lake Lodge on Day three after climbing 2250 metres - the biggest climbing stage of this year's TransRockies!
