Spirit Festival - What's it All About?

One year ago this month, BC welcomed the world to the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. We won more medals than at any previous Winter Olympics and finished off the whirlwind with the amazing gold medal hockey game - thank you Sidney Crosby! When it comes to arts and culture, 4,000 artists engaged more than 2 million people in the 2010 Cultural Olympiad during 60 days, featuring 600 events at 60 venues.
More than half the world's population (3.5 billion people) experienced BC during this exciting time, and Spirit Festivals are being hosted throughout BC to provide us with an opportunity to remember and celebrate (and wish it was all happening again? I think so!).
With the support of the provincial government, around 50 communities are hosting more than 90 festivals and events created by local artists to celebrate the Olympic anniversary. And Fernie is one of these communities... here is what the Fernie Arts Station is putting on for us!
