Portraits - Fernie Photography

My mother has always been my biggest inspiration. She puts so much energy into every climb. Now into her fifties she still pushes harder and climbs better than most people half her age.

While looking for a forest fire in the East Kootenays, we stumbled upon this old abandoned cabin. I started taking pictures from the outside of this cabin then passed my camera through the window to Brad who was standing inside the cabin and he snapped a pic of me standing on the outside peering in.

This past fall, I had the opportunity to travel to Nepal and do some documentary work for NepalSchoolsTrust.org.uk. This frame speaks to their work helping with basic educational needs in Pragatinagar and Devculi districts, i.e. buildings, basic outhouses, and teacher's salaries. This child was sitting next to the window because his class did not have electric lights.

This is a shot of Sean Pettit, whom was voted “Best Male Performance” at the Powder Video awards last year and is currently considered one of the best skiers in the world.
