The Fernie Women's Centre Offers a FREE Parent Support Group

With the support of Columbia Basin Trust the Fernie Women's Centre is currently offering a FREE education and support group to parents of teens in Fernie. This group is for parents with children in grades seven to twelve.

It is an opportunity for parents with children who are at similar ages and stages to support and learn from one another. This will be a safe and confidential space for parents to talk about issues they are facing raising their children. The group will be led by a trained facilitator and will cover topics such as:

Acknowledging and appreciating our strengths as parents
What’s great about teens
What’s hard in our relationships with teens
School
Sex & Relationships
Substance use
Setting limits and staying close
Co-parenting and single parenting

It is running five Tuesdays starting November 8th-December 6th from 7-9:00pm, and will be held at the Fernie Secondary School Library. There is no charge.
