Fernie Mountain Film Fest Call for Nominations

The Fernie Mountain Film Festival is hitting Fernie this February with an exciting schedule as always, starting with the popular Locals Night on Thursday followed by feature films and shorts Friday and Saturday. This year's guest speaker is Bernice Nottenboom, a part time Fernie resident, climate change journalist, and professional adventurer. Bernice speaks Friday evening about her work on climate 'Tipping Points.' Also back by popular demand is the "social" - doors open at 6pm and guests can enjoy local cuisine, refreshments and socializing before the films begin.

An important aspect of this event since 2010 is the Fernie Mountain Culture Award. This award was introduced to recognize a group or individual for their long-time supporter of local mountain culture – trails, environmental stewardship, development and prowess in mountain sports, art and science. Currently, the FMFF committee is accepting nominations - go to THIS page and submit your nomination. Fernie is a host to many deserving groups and individuals, and it's always exciting to see who receives the recognition.

Dedicated to filmmakers who spark awareness of mountain cultures, fragile environments and the passion and perseverance of global explorers
