Recognizing individuals, businesses and organizations for their hard work, success and impact is important to say the least, especially in a small community like Fernie.
Last Thursday, October 25, 2012 the Fernie Chamber of Commerce held its Community and Business Excellence Awards at the Fernie Golf and Country Club, their most successful in recent years with 130 individuals and speaker Bruce Kirby, award-winning explorer, writer and photographer in attendance at the Fernie Golf & Country Club's Clubhouse, catered by CP Catering.
The evening began with a champagne and chocolate fountain reception to the enchanting sounds of Fernie's Trinity Mountain Ensemble . A dinner of chicken cordon bleu followed, along with lemon pannacotta and coffee and tea for dessert.
"There was a really good mix of people from the Fernie business community and I believe everyone really enjoyed themselves. We look forward to doing it all again next year at the 2013 awards," said Rachael Bone of the Fernie Chamber of Commerce.
