The Fernie Heritage Library's newest addition - the Fernie Book Bike, took to the streets for the first time this week hitting the Wednesday Concert Series. To the delight of those in attendance, books were available to take out and stories told to the many eager ears. This marks the beginning of the Book Bike's summer schedule!
"We are thrilled to have the Fernie Book Bike here, filled with books and magazines to sign out, as well as beach reads and paperbacks to purchase by donation. Our summer student Jayden will be making sure you find a book you like, and providing short story times along her route," says Anie Hepher, community programmer at the Fernie Heritage Library.
At this time the library is still fundraising for a Book Bike shed. They are currently on the lookout for a temporary summer home where the bike can be stored safely, away form the elements each night, near to the library.
