Winter Wonderland

To all nordic skiers - get out and enjoy the BEST conditions we've had all year!! The Golf Course is in prime condition, Island Lake has rigged up a new tracksetter and there's more snow in the forecast!

Please remember that there are no dogs allowed on the Golf Course- in order to keep the trails clean and well-groomed, please use the dyke for skiing with your dog. Dogs are welcome on Island Lake trails, but MUST be leashed or under control as some sections of the trail are shared with snowmobiles and snowcats.

Enjoy, and thanks for supporting the Fernie Nordic Society!

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays all Nordic Skiers!

We hope everyone has had really enjoyable holidays! Please obey all closures on the Golf Course. Our grooming staff work hard to maintain the trails, and as the snowpack grows, the grooming will be done more consistently. Our scheduled events will start in the New Year, so please keep an eye on our events calendar.

On-line payments and sign-up...Apologies

Just a quick note to let you know...we are working on fixing the error that is occurring when trying to sign up or pay online. Hope to have it all fixed up before Christmas! Thanks for your patience...

Let it snow Let it snow!!

The snow is slowly starting to accumulate again in town! We're patiently waiting for the Golf Course to get covered in a good amount of snow - in the meantime, please stay off the property until the grooming has begun. Currently, the 'small loop' at Fernie Alpine Resort is groomed, however the hill leading up to that loop from the parking lot is less than perfect! Our new Board will be meeting next week and solidifying our events calendar - watch out for lots of opportunity to get involved!

AGM - NOVEMBER 23...and a few notes

Just a reminder that TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 23RD is our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Arts Station starting at 6pm. This is also a social get together - bring your family and a dish to share! We have a few vacancies on the Board of Directors and lots of volunteer opportunities. We'd love for YOU to be involved!

Mountain Biking Question to Municipal Candidates

The FMBC has posed this question to candidates running for mayor, council and RDEK director.

Fernie has an amazing mountain biking trail network that is built and maintained by dedicated volunteers with very limited funding. What would you do to support mountain biking and trails in and around Fernie?
