Wild Mountain Fernie Enduro

What is enduro racing?
Enduro racing is not a downhill race, neither is it a cross country race, its a mix of the two. You’ll need to have riding skills and fitness for this event, the stages or timed sections are downhill, but can also have short climbs and flat sections. After each stage there is a non-timed section to get you to your next stage and this involves riding uphill for some distance and vary on the route and stage. In Fernie the climbs reflect the downhills—long and punishing! What trails will be used? The proposed 2014 stages will feature descents on Big Money, Roots Hyperextension and Slunt (aka S-Bomb). Detailed maps will be available when the routing has been finalized. These stages will offer a true enduro with long, challenging and technical descents. There will be no uphill or flats on the timed sections, these are true downhill stages. The XC riding and climbs connecting the trails will require a substantial fitness level. We recommend a full-suspension trail or all-mountain bike with a granny gear for climbing to the descents.

Before May 31st: $115
After June 1st: $135
