Sewing Green Adult Workshop Series

Sewing Green
Learn how to rework old items into new! Discover the hot trend of upcycling old clothing and fabrics such as sheets, linen, and wool sweaters. Upcycling has many advantages, such as saving money and experimenting with new techniques without wasting fabric, not to mention lessening the environmental impact of textile production on the environment. This course requires a one hour “coffee chat”, discussing potential projects and supplies needed. You will then take a trip to local thrift stores to source out fabrics. The date and time of the prep class will be determined once registration is complete. Potential projects are endless but can include a new hobo bag from cargo pants, a blanket from wool sweaters, or a patchwork obi belt! Participants must bring a working sewing machine as well as a basic sewing kit. Course is designed for any skill level.
Classes registered through the College of the Rockies (250) 423-4691 unless otherwise noted. $50 Plus Previously Loved Clothes or Fabrics
