This popular competition originated at the Eldorado and then moved with owner Matt Brazeau when he opened the Brickhouse and the Underground. The Central in downtown Fernie is continuing the tradition this year, and it's sure to be an entertaining evening! This popular annual event is entertaining to say the least. 10 guys compete for the coveted title of Mr. Fernie, preparing a "dance" for the ladies in attendance.

Over the last two weeks I've thought a lot about women and the sport of mountain biking, especially after reading two articles - one by mountain bike racer Emily Beaty, the other by Mitchell Scott on Pinkbike.com. I also realized that yes, I'm a bit of a princess AND a mountain biker.. and that's okay.
