The impoverished poet, Rudolfo, meets the seamstress Mimi who lives in the same tenement. Mimi is attracted to Rudolfo and his kindness and they fall in love. Rudolfo , Mimi and their friends gather at the market-place to enjoy the Parisian fun. Later Rudolfo’s jealousy alienates the lovers but when Rudolfo hears Mimi has consumption, he returns to her, only to have her die in his arms. This opera is filled with memorable arias. A classic holiday opera.
