Saturday, November 13, 2010

This year the CSPS is premiering two feature ski films; “THE WAY I SEE IT” by MSP Films and “CHEAP SKI MOVIE” by Jack Turner.

“THE WAY I SEE IT” is a modern take on the extreme sports genre featuring state of the art high definition cinematography and unique camera perspectives. This film joins MSP award-winning catalog featuring films that have won Powder Magazine’s prestigious “Movie of the Year” honors an unprecedented six times. Recent Awards include: International Freeski Film Festival (IF3) Montreal: Best Film, Best Editing and People's Choice.

With a roster featuring the best skiers in the world, including Canadians Mark Abma, Rory Bushfield, James Heim, Eric Hjorleifson and Sean Pettit, you will leave this film inspired and excited for the coming season..

“CHEAP SKI MOVIE” is about FUN - not money, status, image, or tradition. It's a quest to find the real meaning of skiing. An epic, discount journey to meet people and see places never considered for a corporate ski movie.

Local skier Ryan Oakden makes an appearance along with cast of others including Billy Kidd, Bode Miller, Brad Holmes, Franz Klammer, Glen Plake, Hugo Harrison, Jen Hudak, Jonny Moseley, Pep Fujas, Phil Mahre, Tanner Hall and Warren Miller. A movie for the times…hard times!

As always expect lots of prizes, good food and drink and loads of fun at this annual fundraiser. Castle Mountain is offering all those attending a 2 for 1 lift ticket voucher, and FAR and local retailers will have great prizes.

Show times begin at 7pm, $12 for adults and $8 for kids.
