2010 TransRockies Fernie Start

Cheer on this year's participants of the 2010 TransRockies and TR3 as they head off to ride day one and two, both starting in the historic downtown of Fernie. Day one is a time trial start for a technical 31km loop of singletrack trails on Castle and Ridgemont mountains set by Fernie local Pat Gilmar, ending in Fernie. Day two, also set by Pat Gilmar, starts off in Fernie once again before heading out Coal Creek to Fernie Ridge, and then descending to Hosmer and continuing to Sparwood. The race continues in Elkford on Day 3, the last for the TR3 competitors, and makes its way to Canmore where it finishes this year.

9am – 4pm Start and Finish Line Beer Gardens and Food Tent

10am – 12pm 4th Annual Kids Bike Rally

100 kids’ aged 4 – 8 will be facing a fun and educational bike rally around Fernie’s downtown. This mini-rally will again add to the festivities surrounding the TransRockies Start. The event is free and is limited to the first 100 kids to register. Registration is at Straightline Bikes however registration forms can emailed by contacting transrockies@fernie.com. Start times are every half hour beginning at 10am and ending at 11:30am. The rally route takes about one hour and kids must be accompanied by a parent.
