Snow Snow Snow!

If you would have told me in December, when we were receiving Monster Powder reports of 23cm + from Fernie Alpine Resort on a regular basis, that a measly 11cm would excite me in March I would have laughed out loud. Potentially to the point of embarrassment. But alas, it is March 9 and after weeks of spring skiing and dirt making itself known on the hill I was like a kid on Christmas day when I pulled the drapes early this morning. And giddy as a school girl taking fresh turns on Lone Fir. Ahhh, powdery goodness.

I received a press release from FAR just minutes after returning to the office, including this shot of Kevin Giffin ripping up the gnar at the hill.

So, in like a lamb, out like a lion? Yet to be seen...but the forecast is looking promising. For those rooting for the lion that is.

Fernie Alpine Resort closes April 11, 2010 opening for a "bonus" weekend over the 17 and 18. Some of the hill's best events take place between now and then, including Hot Dog Day and the PPP. Our events calendar will keep you up to date on where you need to be this spring!
