The Power of Community
Why does Fernie support Emily so passionately? Here are a couple of recent scenarios that perfectly epitomize Emily.
When she discovered that she could attend the opening ceremonies she was so excited and texted to let us know. "We'll be watching for you at the Brickhouse! They're throwing a party to raise funds for your foundation," we respond. And what does she say? "I wish I was there with you guys..."
This morning a crowd gathered in the square at Fernie Alpine Resort to show Emily their support during a live broadcast with CTV. When Emily saw the crowd she texted, "I was so proud to be from Fernie. What a great community. How are you anyway?" How are we? We'll talk about that in the spring...
If I had to describe Emily in a few words the following would be among them: Strong, determined, supportive, generous, passionate, and resilient.
