This spring FRGC is focusing on a Wildlife Habitat Enhancement Project slated on the Wigwam Flats. This is "Class 1" winter range and in tough winters, this is the only class of range that will sustain wildlife. What we have in the valley is very limited so it requires extreme care and protection. FRGC has been working on this winter range for 35 years with controlled burns, mechanical thinning, hand slashing and noxious weed control.

The Crown of the Continent is an international ecosystem centered around the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, the world’s first protected area to span an international border. A meeting point of four geographical and climatic zones, the Crown of the Continent feeds rivers flowing into three oceans and is recognized as one of North America’s most intact large ecosystems.

Cranbrook is among four other communities in the top five 2010 Kraft Hockeyville Competition and is the only community west of Ontario. The community with the most votes will win the title, vote by March 31! The winner will be announced on April 3 during Hockey Night in Canada!

Luke and Ryland Nelson arrived in Aspen yesterday evening to begin their weekend getaway in Aspen, Colorado. Posh accommodation, a shopping spree, and the opportunity to compete in the final event - Battle in the Bowls, are all part of this winning package the duo received after competing in the Big Mountain Battle in Fernie, February 13.
