Fernie Child Care Society, 1101 2nd Ave 250-423-3313
Found a lucky penny? The booty you find hiding between the cushions isn’t the only change worth celebrating. As the Child Care Centre approaches its first birthday, some big changes are underway. Granted they have had a few spills in their efforts to get up and mobile, but are now cruising towards some big milestones, including their first birthday. With the exception of gumball machines, change is, after all, inevitable.
The Society is pleased to introduce Donna Lee Clusiault as their new manager. Donna-Lee has a wealth of experience in the childcare industry and will head up a team of fully licensed early childhood and infant toddler specialists.
As well, plans are underway to add to the interior space with the addition of an indoor treehouse. The Society is presently seeking funds and volunteers to make this happen. So if you have some extra change hanging around don’t forget that they are a registered charity and can give tax receipts.
If nothing ever changed, there’d be no butterflies, which would be just awful for the garden at the Fernie Childcare facility, which is known to attract them. They are pleased to announce that the folks over at the picnic restaurant will be donating a new outdoor play structure.
Join the Childcare Society Friday September 15 from 4- 6pm to celebrate its 1 year Anniversary BBQ in the garden. The bouncy tent will be up and it’s all free. Visit www.ferniechildcaresociety.com for more information.
