City of Fernie Public Hearing - Short Term Rental Regulation

Recently the City of Fernie gave notice that a Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 because of the increased interest in the proposed Short Term Rental bylaws, which will have an impact on many businesses and individuals within the community. The hearing begins at 7pm in Council Chambers, City Hall, 501-3rd Avenue, Fernie BC so that Council may hear representations from the public. The bylaws in question are as follows:

1) Bylaw No. 2323, Zoning Bylaw No. 1750, Amendment Bylaw No. 187, 2017

2) Bylaw No. 2324, Zoning Bylaw No. 1750,mendment Bylaw No. 188, 2017 (Short-Term Rentals)

3)Bylaw No. 2325, Short-Term Rental Regulation Consequential Amendments Bylaw

Anyone who believes that their interest is affected by these propsed bylaws will have the opportunity to be heard in person. Alternatively, a representtative can attend or written submission sent before 4pm on October 10, 2017. Submissions may be made by any of the following methods:

All submissions must include your name and street address. All written submissions are public information pursuant to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
Following the close of the Public Hearing, no further submissions or comments from the public or interested persons can be accepted by members of Council.
