ALL.I.CAN. a Success Raising $1200 for Fernie Search and Rescue

When we learned that the Rocky Mountain Sherpas were filming scenes for their upcoming feature film ALL.I.CAN. at Island Lake, we needed to learn more. Mike McPhee coordinated for us to head up after a day of skiing to interview the Sherpas and athletes, and over a couple of beers it was clear that Fernie, BC should be a stop on the World Premiere tour as not only would it contain epic scenes at Island Lake, it was going to be an amazing film that many would be interested in.
Coordinating with Sherpa Malcaolm Sansgter and Mike McPhee of Island Lake Lodge, we were able to help bring this to fruition October 27, 2011 at the Vogue Theatre. And because we couldn't just leave 180 people buzzing off Fernie's first ski movie stranded on the street, we thought why not have a little party with Fernie's amazing Shred Kelly after? Island Lake upped the ante by offering free copies of their film The Balance of Power, also filmed by the Rocky Mountain Sherpas, along with a draw for a day of catskiing (won by Guylaine Chagnon)! Top it all off with an intro by Sherpa Eric Crosland, the event was a huge success!
We're happy to report that this event raised an impressive $1200 for Fernie Search & Rescue, and would like to thank everyone that came out to enjoy the film.
