2011 Emily Brydon Youth Foundation Golf Tournament a Success!

The Emily Brydon Youth Foundation, which took place September 17, 2011 at the Fernie Golf and Country Club, is the foundation's biggest fund raising effort and once again has proven a successful and fun event for all involved!

The tournament is one of a kind, with interesting and unique twists at each hole to keep the golfers on their toes. Highlights this year included the Loki Heckler hole where golfers attempted to tee off while Loki's Lance Edwards and his partner in crime Emmett Graham did all in their power to throw you off.

Then of course there was the "bag" hole, where you had to tee off with a bag over your head. We heard one of the British Brydons had their best shot at this hole!

The Fernie Fix had its own hole, where golfers were put to the test by "racing" the hole. The fastest time won a round of drinks at the Clubhouse. Emily's team won, with a time of around 1:40! To put this in perspective, the British Brydons took 10:20...

Emily encourages players to have as much fun on course as possible, which included some pretty colourful outfits including Teck's teams this year.

After the round was complete, golfers returned to the clubhouse for refreshments and appetizers, some even enjoying a quick bocci tournament before dinner began. Silent and live auctions, brown bag raffles, prizes and more kept guests entertained, and DJ PJ started spinning tunes having everyone on their feet dancing the remainder of the evening.

All in all the EBYF Golf Tournament once again left everyone feeling proud of this amazing community organization and looking forward to next year's tournament already! EBYF raised over $28,000 thanks to the many sponsors and golfers this year, had a record breaking year for dinner guest, were left in awe of the donations from the community, enjoyed the involvement sponsors put into their holes, had great cooperation with the Fernie Golf and Country Club and awesome food by CP Catering, were impressed with the fun crowd keeping the EBYF spirit alive, and feel incredibly blessed by the support.
